An iconic bookstore of the beatnik movement in Berkeley, Moe's Books opened in 1959. A supporter of the student protest movement in the 1960s, its founder Moe Moskowitz helped finance albums by Country Joe and the Fish, the Berkeley-based psychedelic band known for its anti-Vietnam War song "I Feel Like I'm Fixin to Die Rag." Today, new and used books can be found at Moe's on three floors. A sidewalk store is sometimes improvised on Sundays in the summer, along with waffle vendors.

A really nice bookshop, with choice, which is worth the detour completely if you want to bring a book or two!
