Both the restaurant and bar on property are worth checking out.
Only suggestion would be to expand self parking so guests can take their own car near the room instead of using the golf cart.
Thoughtful amenities complemented the stay, creating a comfortable retreat. The short drive from the city makes it an easy escape, allowing for a relaxing day amidst nature’s beauty. Cavallo Point is the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.
This is not a true luxury hotel though. It only has the bells and whistles to try to be (like extra fancy snacks and dog treats, lots of staff around, e-bike rental service — but did not try it), but does not cover the basics.
Water for shower in the morning was lukewarm and there’s no handheld hose (maybe a US thing).
No indication on how to call the front desk from the room phone, had to call the reservation line from our mobile. Waited long for a shuttle from Farley back to the room and had to ask several times. No more umbrellas to borrow due to the heavy rain. Just poor and frustrating service in general.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the heating systems were easy to use on the chilly evenings. Parking was convenient right next to our room.
Plenty of walks, hikes, and sites to see without moving your car.
A feeling of going back in time while still being in the present. Outstanding restoration and chic design.
Staff were always available and friendly, the bellmen were welcoming and attentive.
We hope to make Cavallo Point an annual visit!
Thank you!
PS We heard about Cavallo Point through AMEX and highly recommend the entire experience.
The two big rooms were very nicely decorated w/ reindeers, nutcrackers, snowmans and other Christmas themed motifs.
Lots of different types of food offered and big dessert station. Salads, lobster raviolis, pork loin, pastas, charcuterie meats, cheese .. My favorite items were the creamy mashed potatoes, the juicy prime rib and the tower of oysters and cocktail shrimp. There was also a coffee and tea station.
The servers and waitstaff were very attentive and helpful w/ refilling your water and getting you whatever you may have needed.
Some may consider this a very expensive meal and question if it's worth the money. I say Christmas only comes once a year and you are definitely paying for the good food choices and ambiance. I think it was totally worth it!
