Abalone....was the most amazing dish. Think wagyu, but for seafood!!!

The food was wonderful, as always. My husband and I grew up eating here with our families on vacations, however, this was our best experience yet! Our server, shout out to Tara, was prompt with bringing our food and was extremely personable with all of her table including us. She absolutely made our evening with her joyful personality. The support staff was also pleasant; they kept drinks fill and table clean. Great experience overall!

Revised: Went back before we left town and somehow they exceeded our last visit! Got the calamari this time when was perfectly done and generous. This is THE best restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf! Service is top notch.

Dropped in because they were voted best clam chowder in the area for the last several years, and we wanted to see for ourselves. They didn’t disappoint!

They were generous and friendly and you cannot beat the intimate ambience.

We didn’t know that they were a sister restaurant to Fish Hopper down on Cannery Row. I recommend Old Fisherman’s Grotto over Fish Hoppers.

Came here yesterday around 4pm, thinking this place would be good , the food was at least a 4.5/5 but service from our server was absolute trash , some bald central American server was very pushy on what we should order . did not like his attitude at all , couldn't even order correctly as he was rushing my finance and I .I'm Latino as well so seeing that from fellow Latino was disturbing .would love to go back but with another server possibly , other than that food was good with a nice view.

This has it all. nice ocean view atmosphere that complements the freshness of the seafood served. The clam chowder bread bowl is a must! It's so rich and smooth over that toasted and gooey sourdough!

My favorite place to eat when I drive down from the bay area. The clam chowder bread bowl is to die for. Met the owner my first time there, and I was very impressed with his friendliness. Great customer. Highly recommend.

I legitimately have never had clam chowder as great as this place! Ask for their special way, where they add crab and shrimp to the top, cover it in cheese and rebake it. It's downright incredible!

If you’re looking for a good seafood meal I would look elsewhere. We had the BBQ Oysters, Captains Dish ($49?) +$8 add on to get clam chowder, and the ultimate seafood pasta ($48?). Each dish was a dollar or so away from $50 and they managed to overcook the lobster, shrimp and scallops until it felt like you’re chewing on a rubber band. The salmon had virtually no flavor and the clam chowder tastes almost identical to Zupas. To me, the food quality is unacceptable. The ambience is quite nice which I do appreciate, however, it’s not worth the money. We left unsatisfied and the service wasn’t good.

Went for 12th anniversary. Beautiful view. Had a dozen oysters, well-shucked, pretty good flavor, and super-meaty. Partner actually only wanted to eat 3 (I ate the rest!) because he wasn't in love with how meaty they were - he prefers the smaller, slurpable ones lol. But I don't mind chewing mine :)
The sand dabs were great - great flavor on them, the risotto, and the veggies. Seafood Linguine Isabella also really good.
Maker's Manhattan was nice - basically all Maker's Mark, but I love bourbon. His drink was good too (can't remember).
They gave me a rose and gave us a free cheesecake for the anniversary - it was really good with great flavor! Will be back to try the clam chowder and crab tower!
Staff was great and very attentive. Ricardo is very sweet, and Marvin was really nice too - thank you!

First time and was a good experience. Was able to have a table in the 2nd floor window with the view.

We stopped by Old Fisherman's Grotto because we received a coupon for a free entree from Princess Whale watching tours. We tried the grotto seafood sampler that had 1/2 crab, 2 shrimp, salmon and risotto, which were all delicious. Free bread while we wait. Food was on the pricier side, considering the sit-down high end ambience but I'd say it was worth the experience and the lovely view

Amazing place! It was just myself and my mom, so we ordered the coconut shrimp and the famous soup on the bread to share. Amazing experience, and the place is beautiful. Great service too.

大蒜麵包濃湯真的很好吃,但是要注意份量蠻大的,小鳥胃的建議可以兩個人點一份

Les poissons de ce resto à Monterey vaut le déplacement. Bien cuisinés et délicieux.
