MONTEREY JAZZ FESTIVAL

The oldest jazz festival in the United States, the Monterey Jazz Festival has been held every September in Monterey since 1957. Each year, it welcomes some 500 artists, spread over 8 stages. Over the past sixty years, it has invited some of the greatest names in jazz, including Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Dave Brubeck, Pat Metheny, Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Rollins and Dizzy Gillespie... You won't believe it! In 2007, the organization launched a series of CDs featuring its most memorable concerts.
