Food was fantastic. Our group of 6 sampled a good portion of the menu items. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Small place. I would imagine a walk in would be difficult. Highly recommend reservations well in advance. Service was good, and nice selection on the wine list.

They could take my money every single day and I’d still be like the experience was worth it.

A small charming restaurant just off the Sonoma square, this lived up to the hype of being on the Michelin list.

Upon entering, check out the chalkboard specials - we ended up ordering three dishes from it.

Everything was amazing - fresh ingredients, bold flavors. Particular favorite was the scallop, salmon, and uni starter served with daikon radish and micro greens in a light ponzu sauce.

The vegetarian risotto was one of the best I’ve tasted, and I almost always order risotto if it’s on the menu. It was the perfect texture, and I would describe it as fresh tasting.

Our server recommended the yuzu cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. In hindsight, we should have ordered two.

One year later on our trip through Sonoma and we had to return to Cafe La Haye.

Still as excellent as it was a year ago. Food, service, and wine were all top notch.

We were lucky enough to have Ester as our server again. She has such enthusiasm about the menu. Her descriptions of the extensive specials were detailed and spot on. I have no idea how she remembers such fine details of an ever changing menu. A true professional!

We started with the chop salad as a starter, which I could have every day and not get tired of. I returned to the pork chop for my main, which was a generous cut. My partner had the chicken special, which was beyond generous in size and very tasty.

We cheated again this time and had dessert. That butterscotch pudding is utter perfection.

We can’t wait to return next year during our annual trip through Sonoma.

Another great evening at Cafe La Haye; this time for my daughter's birthday. It is so nice to see the familiar faces of the staff and folks that seem to be locals.

All of the specials sounded tempting, as did the menu items. I had the ahi tuna tartare , youngsters (30+!) Had fried cauliflower, husband had chicory salad with persimmons, almond, feta; a good choice! We always try the risotto of the day, which was broccolini and lemon EVOO today. For a minute I thought we would ALL order that, but I went for the pork chops with gnocchi (again), son had spiced chicken and husband had petrale sole.
Of course we had the warm almond cake with salted caramel ice cream. (Husband likes his on the side ????), but one of us had and enjoyed the cheesecake.

Shared a very nice meal at this small bustling gem. The space was cozy and the artwork and the food all went together nicely. Soup and special salad of the day were followed by the pork chop and pasta dishes which were all delicious and beautifully presented. Chocolate silk cake was a perfect finish.

It’s rare these days when the owner of a restaurant greets you at the door and comes by your table to ask if everything was ok and thanks you when you leave. That’s what you get at Cafe La Haye! Great food (loved the carpaccio with oyster on top!), ambiance, and service in Sonoma. I can see why locals love Cafe La Haye! We’ll be back!

The food was remarkably wonderful with one exception. We are both allergic to chili in any form and we made that extremely clear. Our first course was covered with chili on the otherwise delicious toast. When we told our waitress, she was not particularly sympathetic and there were only two other choices, both of which were also spicy. When we told the owner, he stated that there was nothing spicy on the toast! That particular dish was expensive and quite small and I was quite stunned that they didn't offer to simply remove it from the bill. I have never had a restaurant deal with a situation in that manner. Also, our server barely checked on us even when she was right next to us dealing with other people. Plus it was my sister's birthday and I wanted it to be really special for her. We did not make a big deal out of any of it and simply ate what we could. I have to say that while the food was exceptional, the service and the attitude was most definitely not and I sincerely doubt whether I will ever return to this restaurant because of that. In my opinion, great food is not enough to make a restaurant experience exceptional. We ate at three other restaurants that were exceptional in every way!

A wonderful restaurant!! The food was very tasty. We started with the burrata appetizer. My wife enjoyed the roasted chicken, and my son and I enjoyed the beet vegetarian rissoto. It was so good. Our server was Esther. She was delightful, and provided us with outstanding friendly service.

Lovely small restaurant with impeccable service and food a block off the square. Smaller food menu due to the size yet plenty of GF & vegetarian options, & surorisingly large wine menu. My fish portion was generous. 3 bar seats at the prep counter if you want to see the chefs in action. We walked in without a reservation and they accommodated us at 6:05pm. Seating downstairs is snug but pleasant. Did I mention impeccable service? Every step was timely, water glasses filled consistently. We had 3 courses in an hour. Guests had nicer attire and were respectful of the quiet atmosphere.

I've been to this restaurant multiple times - always outstanding. Interesting dishes, unique combinations and a wonderfully, casual and classy atmosphere. I enjoyed the pan fried eggplant with sweet chili sauce so much, i came home and tried to prepare it (my version was nothing like Cafe La Haye :( Highly recommend a visit.

It was wonderful, super friendly staff. Small place, so reservations are a must. My husband had the lamb, I had the filet. Both were delicious!

This place is absolutely fantastic! I strongly recommend it, we happened to be in town for an occasion and decided to drop by after settling in. We had no reservation, and this seems like a place where they would be preferred, but they greeted us warmly and took us in immediately. I got some pasta and my girlfriend got spiced chicken, and both of our dishes were out of this world ???? you can tell the cooks and servers and the chef really care about the taste of their food and the presentation of their food. The desert was exceptional as well. 10/10 would go again!

Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been too! I got the filet mignon and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The green beans and potatoes were cream and incredible. The almond cake was not something I would normally gravitate but I ordered it after my sweet waitress recommended it.. it was to die for!!!! The service couldn’t have been any more amazing.. they were so friendly and fast. The chef and his team even checked in to see how everything was. I just wish I lived here so I could come more! I cannot wait to come back! This just made it the best birthday ever for me!
