We continue to have delightful experiences here - a result of the pleasant and happy staff paired with thoughtfully sourced and expertly crafted cuisine. Dining in this space you can feel that the team cares about the work they are doing and take pleasure in delivering excellent experiences to their guests. The service is warm and attentive, the cuisine is considered but not fussy - warm vibes and good eats, what else could one ask for? Highlights: winter BLT, Beet Panzanella, Pork Belly, you can’t go wrong.

We love this spot in Midtown, Sacramento. Its a true veggie paradise, as you can always get fresh local veggies with great pairings and sauces. I think it's nice when you can find a nice restaurant that has a variety of fresh, from the Earth food options. And to that point, mostly those options. It's a good break up from most restaurants who focus on meat and processed/fried options first.

We loved the crudo, as it was a nice balance with the citrus and oil. The carpaccio was also amazing with the bread that was firm but not break your teeth hard.

Wine list is great, middle of the road to not break the bank but some delicious choices. We went with the CA Pinot and were not disappointed.

We've enjoyed brunch here too, also a great option!

Staff makes you feel like you are eating at their house, they are polite and definitely passionate about the food.

You must go if you haven't and my review sounds up your alley.

It's so good that I returned a few days later to order again! I love the raw beef! Very tasty. All the food tasted clean, wholesome, and healthy. The staff is so delightful, too!

The best farm-to-fork restaurants in Sacramento. The staff is amazing the food is to die for. I like it so much I asked my wife to marry me here. We even had them cater our wedding. The drinks and food vary based on what is best in season.

This is easily one of the best restaurants in Sacramento. I hold that in high regard because I am a Sacramento native who absolutely loves the foodie scene here. Their farm to fork menu is inventive and unique. Cocktails fresh and balanced; even a classic like Negroni was surprisingly different. Their wine list includes natural wine; local producers (Haarmeyer and Perch) as well as other small producers around the globe and stateside. Their seasonal menu keeps you guessing but some staples are the pork belly (I typically don’t eat this but it’s so so good here), white bean hummus and beef tartare. Please don’t be fooled by the “cafe” label; this is a gourmet experience for fit for a special occasion, date night or just a solo every day meal. The whole chicken is my husband’s fave! My only regret is not trying this place sooner!

Our first visit in 3 years - used to be our go-to pre-Covid for always-great Sunday brunch menu and a tough ticket - always a wait to get a table. Return was a disappointment. Only
Lunch and dinner now. Near empty restaurant for lunch. Daily special was a burger that was fine but not special. French fries limp. Good service. Nice desserts.

Ageism going strong here! I read online that this establishment was hiring. The request was for applicants to stop by, drop off a resume and ask to speak with the manager. I did that. However, the manager took a quick look at me and simply told me that the position had been filled and wasn’t even interested in keeping my resume on file. (It’s a restaurant, they’ll eventually need to hire people.) I’m 52. It was a blow. Going with my gut, I sent my 22 yo daughter in the very next day. The exact same manager was happy to speak with her and wanted her resume. Hmmmm. ????

Magpie is the crown jewel of Sacramento's farm to fork restaurant scene.

Top to bottom, their menu is really second to none. The highest quality of ingredients executed to perfection every single time.

Over the years, have probably tried just about everything on their menu and can honestly say that I've never once been disappointed.

In the post COVID world of restaurants, they have found a way to maintain their high quality without skimping on portions or inflating their prices.

The place is a gem and our go to a nice meal out in Midtown.

Way over priced blt . Like 2 to 3 slices of bacon for 17ish.
Was hard to get refills. They try to do French style just need to work on recipes for their duck

The chicken for two is fantastic and accompanied but delicious roasted vegetables. The farm salad is also amazing and fresh, and the carrot cake with the heavy cream cheese filling is the way to end a meal.

We were there for an anniversary dinner that a friend recommended & we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and we loved the atmosphere. The service was great & so was the cocktails.

Sadly the pork was undercooked polenta looked like mush. Steak tartar was inpalable needless to say food lacked seasoning and flavor. Food combinations area bit odd.
I expected better it was a culinary disaster. Epic fail
NONE OF THE FOOD BELOW LISTED WAS EVEN ON THE MENU

The food was amazing. Most of their dishes are naturally gluten free, however they don’t have gluten feee options for their sides (such as chips or crackers). This left me eating hummus and ceviche by the spoon.
The drinks are great. Well crafted cocktails.

The service is always so wonderful. The Llano Seco pork chops, steak & ceviche dishes are a must try. We love Magpie!

I've been dining here for years. The quality if the food is as good as it was when they first opened. Many Cafes get cheap once they have an established clientele which is disappointing. Thankfully this is not thecase with Magpie!

The food here is so fricken good, and there is always something new & interesting to try on the cocktail menu. A great place to bring a date.

OMG! Must try restaurant ????.

First....the cocktails. Incredibly creative and refreshing. Our table tried their Blueberry Mojito, Elderberry Spritz and a craft IPA - all excellent.

Appetizers: Anchovy Toastette, Polpette, homemade chips [chef's kiss] - soooooo good.

Dinner: Rigatoni and New York Steaks. Absolutely perfect! Seriously, this was the best dinner out in a while!

Magpie's menu had so many unique and truly original ideas-I am very impressed. They should have a Michelin star!!!

The entire staff was amazing-you can definitely feel their team spirit and friendly vibe.

I can not say enough great things except GET THIS PLACE ON YOUR LIST.

Very Creative Cuisine though lacking in Flavor
3.5 / 5

Fried Onions were the best thing we ate.
Followed by Ice cream sandwich & Fries...

The Chicken though very juicy was lacking in Flavor an easy fix for a talented culinary team.

Magpie is family run! I love that & the attention I see them put into the food! The quality is superb! I feel like you are indulged with high class food here!!! Staff friendly. Bar awesome! The food always on point! A tad loud if your seeking quiet inside- but they offer a great patio which almost all year ling you can sit at! Can’t say enough good things about the menu! The Bacon Sandwich is the best on planet earth btw! Parking is not hard ! One of my favorites! Brunch- Lunch & Dinner! Super Grrrrreat! One of Sacratomatoes best!!!!

My family and I love this restaurant! The food is delicious and fresh! The staff is also always so nice! The chicken for two is amazing and we got a ton of starters to share. Our favorites were the hummus, cheese board, and the homemade onion dip! We will definitely back!

Ma femme et moi, on y vient souvent pour le p'tit déj. On aime bien leur cuisine. Succulente. Tarif très raisonnable.
