A great place to eat on Convict Lake, 15 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Rustic decor, sublime scenery and exceptional meals.

A great table on Convict Lake, 15 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Rustic decor, subdued lighting, sublime scenery and exceptional meals. The staff is of course very attentive, and foodies agree on the quality of the dishes. We liked the grilled brie in a crust followed by the fresh trout (depending on the arrival). Nice wine list. You can go there with your eyes closed. Well, open them anyway to enjoy the view!

What an incredible place in Mammoth Lakes. Near airport, a litter out of town. Excellent food, great service, terrific ambiance. We had lamb chops and scallops. Presentation was excellent, food full of flavor. Hope to visit area again. Will definitely eat there.

We had a very nice dinner here. My bf had been coming here 50 years. So we went for his birthday. The services great, drinks were great. Food was wonderful.

No no no. While the menu reminds me of some of Gordon Ramsay's favorites- the front of the house ruined our special evening. We arrived all dressed up for a birthday celebration after a fun day seeing the local sights. The vibe upon entrance was melancholy. No nice music and no warm greeting to celebrate the occasion. We were seated in the back of the house, looking at part of the entrance hallway. We stated the food allergies on the reservation, but the server seemed unaware. This is when things really started to go downhill. The server became quite snotty and rude with us. She basically told us to scour the menu and figure it out. This turned into a disagreement because there is no way for us to look at the menu and know if there is dairy in the sauces. That is her job to know or find out. She had no interest in being helpful. She acted entitled to be completely rude and unhelpful, as if being one of Mammoth's top rated restaurants meant she was somehow above it all. We requested a new server. We would have rsther left and not eaten that be subjected to this horrible person. The "manager" made us explain in detail our reason. Begrudgingly he moved us to a cancelled reservation's table. What a horrible experience. We should have left. It's definitely not worth spending $300 at this unworthy establishment for any occassion let alone a special one. Shame on the front of the house for ruining the cook's efforts. There are no kake views so I recommend skipping it. Other places have the same food just as good. Plus inside like I said is solemn, no views and nothing special.

We ordered takeout. The food was delicious but pricey. We had the pistachio crusted salmon. Excellent.
