Exceptional upscale hotel in the heart of the valley with rustic architecture and design atmosphere
Exceptional upscale hotel in the heart of Yosemite Valley. It is a historic establishment, which opened its doors in 1927. Its deliberately rustic architecture, mainly made of stone and wood, blends perfectly with the surrounding nature. Its ambiance is designer, with both Art Deco and Native American inspirations. The hotel alone is worth the trip, not necessarily to stay there, but simply for curiosity and to enjoy the atmosphere in the tea room, the bar or the souvenir store.

Striking granite facade, magnificent log-beamed ceilings, massive stone hearths, richly colored Native American artwork on, and finely appointed rooms should make this a shining example of what what is considered to be the premier lodge in the Yosemite area (It is not - shame in you, Aramark. But you should see it anyway)
The Ahwahnee Hotel is located in the majestic, jaw-dropping main valley inside Yosemite Park near the base of Half Dome and Glacier Point. This hotel, built-in 1927, is a National Historic Landmark and should be one of the most distinctive resort hotels in North America. You will find the Ahwahnee Hotel in the center of Yosemite Valley, an ideal location to view Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and Glacier Point.
Completed in 1927, The Ahwahnee Hotel features a blend of design influences including Art Deco, Native American, Middle Eastern, and Arts & Crafts Movements. These elements can be seen in every aspect of the hotel including stenciling, woodwork, lighting fixtures, and china patterns. Every room is designed for comfort and visual delight and reflects the natural surroundings and Native American influence of Yosemite's past.
Some of the most well-loved aspects of The Ahwahnee Hotel are its grand public spaces featuring giant stone fireplaces, massive hand-stenciled beams, rich tapestries, and elegant stained glass.
Aramark needs to implement Disney Training and also hire more staff. That’s all I have to say. Such a grand old lady needs care????????
