Easy hike with a small elevation gain to dive into the heart of the famous California redwoods in Yosemite National Park

Three giant redwood forests are the highlights of this hike. The big star is the Grizzly Giant which is said to have sprouted 2,700 years ago. Mariposa can be reached by the free buses available to the public (count 1 hour 30 minutes from the valley). There is a small parking lot at the entrance, with toilets and water. The hike is easy with a small difference in altitude. You'll plunge into the heart of the famous California redwoods, with the three famous groves along the way. Many animals roam around here, including squirrels that squabble, so keep an eye out!
