BYZANTINE MUSEUM AGIOS LAZAROS
Ecclesiastical museum housing precious liturgical objects from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods, as well as beautiful icons.
This ecclesiastical museum (Βυζαντινό Μουσείο Αγίου Λαζάρου/Vyzantino Mousio Agiou Lazarou) was founded by local Orthodox faithful in 1947 within the Larnaka fort. It lost much of its collection during the communal clashes of 1963. Reopened here in 1990, it still possesses precious liturgical objects from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods as well as beautiful icons such as those of St. John the Baptist (1699) and St. Marina (17th century) on thefirst floor.
