KYRIAZI MEDICAL MUSEUM
Private museum in an attractive British colonial house. Exhibition on the island's medical history, from antiquity to the 1980s.
This small private museum (Ιατρικό Μουσείο Κυριαζή/Iatriko Mousio Kyriazi) was founded in 2011 by Marios Kyriazis (b. 1956), a physician from a family of pharmacists in Larnaka. Housed in a lovely 1927 British colonial house, it modestly traces the island's medical history from antiquity to the 1980s. About a thousand objects (surgical instruments, books, pharmaceutical furniture, X-ray generator, etc.) are on display, dating mainly from the period 1850-1950. There is another medical museum in Limassol, opened in 2001.
