MCKENZIE BEACH
This beige and grey sand beach is a local favorite, with lifeguard surveillance, showers, sun loungers...
This beige and gray sand beach (Μακένζι Παραλία/Makenzi Paralia, McKenzie Beach) stretches 800 m in length between the fishing harbor (north) and the airport (south). It is named after a Scottish sailor who opened a restaurant here at the end of World War II. Well equipped (surveillance, showers, deckchairs, etc.), it is the favorite beach of the inhabitants for swimming, but also for partying. In its southern part, the beach is in fact privatized by bars and nightclubs. In summer, frequent strong winds from the south in the afternoon.
