PLATANOS
Despite its huge terrace designed for king-size weddings, this tavern knows how to cook up a storm. In the shade of the plane tree planted in 1907 that gives the establishment its name, authentic Cypriot cuisine is served here, both traditional and carefully prepared: hearty mezzedes, melt-in-your-mouth kleftiko, but also truly local recipes such as pasto (sausage and pieces of salt pork cooked in wine), tavas (stewed pork with rice and tomato) and a very good homemade dessert, baklava anari (fresh local cheese flavored with cinnamon).
