AGIA NAPA AQUEDUCT
A poorly maintained section of a Roman aqueduct that was converted by the Franks to supply water to the Agia Napa monastery.
This portion of an ancient aqueduct (Μεσαιωνικό Υδραγωγείο της Αγίας Νάπας/Mesaioniko Ydragogio tis Agias Napas, Ayia Napa Aqueduct) was part of a 2 km-long system that carried water to the monastery of Agia Napa. Built by the Romans, the aqueduct was transformed by the Franks. It is one of the few ancient monuments in the region. In addition to a beautiful stone arch, a 1.5 km path leads along part of the structure, mainly a large gully. Restored between 2006 and 2008, the structure is poorly maintained.
