PROTARAS BEACHES

A popular beach for Nicosia's residents and English tourists, home to dozens of hotels, bars and restaurants.
From the south to the north, up to the buffer zone, there are no less than eleven beaches over 7 km. On each of them, there are umbrellas and deckchairs for rent.
Nissia. It is the first sandy beach going north after 4 km of rocky coastline, these two false "islands" give it its name(nissia in Greek means "islands"). Restaurant. Good diving spot.
Lombardi. It is located a few dozen meters north of Nissia and 2 km south of the bay of Protaras. Clear water and fine sand. Restoration and Blue Flag.
Protaras Bay. It is also called Fig tree or Sikia in Greek because of the fig trees that grow here. Very busy in summer, it is criss-crossed by beach umbrella rental companies, surrounded by bars.
Vrisi (Golden beach or Sunrise beach). Appreciated by the inhabitants of Nicosia as well as by English and Scandinavian tourists, it is the longest beach (almost 1 km) and the most frequented of the resort of Protaras. With dozens of hotels (Iliada, Vrissina...), bars (Scarabeo...) and restaurants licking the sand, as well as jet-skis and others moored at the piers, one does not risk feeling isolated.
Potami. This small bay has a golden sandy beach with a river(potami means river in Greek). Calm water, Blue Flag, access for the disabled, bars and restaurants.
Pernera. Very nice bay with 200 m of white sand. Calm and clear water, Blue Flag and restaurants.
Louma. This is the largest beach in the northern part of Protaras. Despite the presence of the fishing port next to it, the water is clean, calm and clear. Divided into two parts connected by a sandy strip, the beach is wide enough to host regular beach volleyball matches. Disabled access, Blue Flag and catering.
Vrysoudia. Small pebble beach located between Agia Trias and Louma. A nearby drinking water spring gives it its name(vrysoudia means "spring" in Greek Cypriot dialect). Because of the currents, the water is often dark.
Agia Trias. Beautiful sandy beach overlooked by cliffs in its northern part, as well as by a chapel of the same name. The quality of the water is not as good as elsewhere because of the proximity of the fishing port.
Malama (Skoutari). 1 km north of Agia Trias, this small sandy beach is surrounded by cliffs. Very popular in summer. Restaurant on the spot.
Kapparis. Last beach (sand) before the buffer zone. Very popular in summer, there are good diving spots, especially in the underwater caves. Restaurant on the spot.
