MUSÉE MÉDICAL DE CHYPRE
A small, private museum created in 2001 to showcase the progress made in local medicine over the last century.
This small private museum (Ιατρικό Μουσείο Κύπρου/Iatriko Mousio Kyprou) was established in 2001 by a Limassol doctor, Christodoulos Messis (1936-2016), thanks to donations of equipment from his colleagues. It provides an opportunity to measure the progress made by local medicine in the space of a century. There's a medicinal herb garden, a stage with a mannequin and period equipment recreating childbirth in the 1930s, the first electrocardiograph used in Cyprus in 1938, and an X-ray generator from 1965.
