This exhibition and leisure area (Παλιός Χαρουπόμυλος/Palios Charoupomylos, Old Carob Mill) is housed in a 1,400m2 former mill built in 1900 and used until 1980 to process and store "Cyprus's black gold", the pod of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua). On site are the Carob Museum, the Evagoras-Lanitis Cultural Centre (temporary exhibitions), the Takis-Pattichis Pharmaceutical Museum, as well as cafés and restaurants, including the Carob Mill Restaurant with a terrace overlooking Limassol Castle.
