This 6-hectare complex (Δημοτικός και Ζωολογικός Κήπος/Dimosios kai Zoologikos Kipos) includes a pleasant English garden opened in 1905 with eucalyptus, pine and cypress trees and impeccable lawns. The zoo was created in 1954. Since its renovation in 2012, it has been home mainly to the island's domestic animals, as well as a few monkeys, lemurs and pink flamingos. Also on site is the municipal dance center with a 2,000-seat outdoor theater. Cafés in the garden and zoo.
