KOURION ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum in the Cypriot part of Episkopi. Numerous objects from the sanctuary of Apollo Hylates and skeletons of the inhabitants of Kourion.
This small national museum (Τοπικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Κουρίου/Topiko Archaiologiko Mousio Kouriou) is housed in the Cypriot part of Episkopi, within the former villa of American archaeologist George McFadden (1907-1953). Most of the objects on display come from the sanctuary of Apollo Hylates: statues, offerings, etc. Of particular interest are the three tangled skeletons of the inhabitants of Kourion, buried alive during an earthquake in the 4th century.
