JARDIN BOTANIQUE DU TROODOS
Located at the entrance to the old and dreaded Amiantos asbestos mine, it houses around 500 specimens of Cypriot flora.
This 12-hectare garden (Βοτανικός Κήπος Τροόδους/Votanikos Kipos Troodos, Troodos Botanical Garden) was developed from 2010 on part of the large and fearsome Amiantos asbestos mine. Still under construction, it should eventually be home to 500 plant species typical of the island. Trees (Cyprus black pines, Cilician firs, Cyprus cedars, etc.), a herb garden, a frog pond and a picnic area are already on site.
