VIEUX KAKOPETRIA
Old part of Kakopetria with traditional houses, church, wine and olive oil museums and cats.
The old part of the village (Παλαιά Κακοπετριά/Palaia Kakopetria, Old Kakopetria) is pleasant with its cats, guesthouses, cafés and cobbled street that winds for 300 m between tiled-roofed and wooden-balconied buildings clustered between the Karkotis and Garillis rivers. Here you'll find the Metamorfosis tou Sotiros church (1520) with its 16th-century frescoes and icons, the Olive Oil Mill Museum (daily 10am-8pm, in theory) and the Linos Museum dedicated to viticulture (Monday-Friday 7.30am-3pm, in theory).
