ARCHANGELOS MIHAIL CHURCH
Next to the church of Panagia tis Podithou. It was built shortly after this one (early century) and decorated by the same painter.
This small Greek Orthodox church (Ναός Αρχαγγέλου Μιχαήλ/Naos Archangelou Mihail, Church of Archangel Michael) stands next to the church of Panagia tis Podithou. It was built shortly after the latter, in the early 16th century, and decorated by the same painter, Symeon Axentis. The frescoes here are in a more classical Byzantine style. Of particular note is the chilling episode of "blood sweat" (stress-induced hematidrosis) striking Jesus on the Mount of Olives.
