TZELEFOS BRIDGE
Venetian bridge in the heart of the Paphos forest, 440 m above sea level. Elegant arch, 10.5 m long.
This 16th-century stone structure (Γεφύρι του Τζιελεφού/Gefyri tou Tzelefou) spans the Diarizos River in a beautiful corner of the Paphos forest, 440 m above sea level. With its elegant 10.5 m-long arch, it is the largest and most beautiful Venetian bridge in Cyprus. It was part of a network of bridges on the ancient road between the Pera Pedi copper mine and the port of Paphos. Also known as the Kelefos Bridge, today it's a popular strolling spot, with an ice-cream truck waiting nearby for tourists in summer.
