RUE KURTBABA
This shopping street (Kurtbaba Sokak) is very touristy. Its stores are overflowing with branded clothes at low prices of dubious origin. As a reminder, the maximum value of purchases to return to the South zone is 200 €. And counterfeits are strictly forbidden (risk of big fine at the crossing point). The street owes its name to the mausoleum of Kutup Baba (deformed into "Kurt" Baba) located at the corner of Asmaaltı Street. This Ottoman soldier of the bektashi brotherhood died during the capture of the city in 1570 and is buried here with two of his companions.
