This elegant Greek Orthodox monastery (Ιερά Μονή Αγίου Ηρακλειδίου/Iera Moni Agiou Iraklidiou) lies south of the village of Politiko/Πολιτικό, which is also home to the archaeological site of Tamassos. It was founded in the 6thcentury as the burial place of Saint Heraclides of Tamassos, the first bishop of Cyprus at the end of the 1st century. Rebuilt in 1773, the complex preserves frescoes from the 15thand 16thcenturies . The nuns produce and sell honey, jams, etc. here.
