AGIOS ANTONIUS CHURCH
This Greek Orthodox church is best known for its surroundings: a pretty neighborhood to which it gives its name.
This Greek Orthodox church (Iερός Ναός Αγίου Αντωνίου) is especially worth a visit for its surroundings: the Agios Antonios district with its picturesque, quiet lanes of homogeneous houses. It is dedicated to Anthony the Great, founder of Christian eremitism in the 4th century. The building features an elegantly refined bell tower (19th century) and a beautifully simple interior. The nave (18th century) has some Gothic accents mixed with Byzantine influence. The church is also home to medieval tombs.
