SUAT-GÜNSEL MOSQUE
The largest mosque in Cyprus, inaugurated in 2024, with six minarets. Two museums (modern art and automobiles).
Opened in 2024, this impressive mosque (Suat Günsel Camii) is located on the outskirts of Nicosia-North. It is the largest in Cyprus, with 62 domes, six minarets (two of which are 56.45 m high) and a capacity of 10,000 worshippers. Inaugurated by Turkish President Erdoğan, it is part of the Near East University campus, owned by Cypriot billionaire Suat Günsel, born near Paphos in 1952. Also on site are two museums: works by Turkish-speaking artists (kitsch!) and vintage automobiles (around a hundred).
