OCHI MARKET
Farmers' market three days a week on the Constanza bastion. It takes its name from Greece's "no" (ochi ) to Italy in 1940.
This open-air farmers' market (Λαϊκή Αγορά Οχι/Laïki Agora Ochi) is held three times a week on the Constanza bastion, next to a parking lot and the Bayraktar mosque. Small producers come to sell mainly seasonal fruit and vegetables. It's best to come early, as prices are reasonable and customers start raiding the market in the early hours of the morning. The site is called "Place du Non", in memory of Greece's "no" (Οχι/Ochi) to Mussolini on October 28, 1940 (a national holiday in Cyprus and Greece).
