POST OFFICE MUSEUM
Cyprus Postal Museum. History of the island's postal services, exhibition and sale of stamps for philatelists.
The Cyprus Post Museum (Ταχυδρομικό Μουσείο Κύπρου/Tachydromiko Mousio Kyprou) has changed little since its creation in 1981. Housed in a small two-storey building, it tells the story of the island's postal services between the first system set up by the Venetians in the 16th century and the creation of the national post office in 1960. The museum boasts a rich collection of stamps, much sought-after by philatelists (available for purchase on site). Of particular note are those from the British period, depicting palm trees, camels and Queen Victoria.
