CYPRUS MUSEUM OF TURKISH ISLAMIC ART
Small museum along the Bedesten. Includes carpets, kilims, candlesticks and firmans from North Cyprus mosques.
This small museum (Kıbrıs Türk İslam Eserleri Müzesi, Cyprus Turkish Islamic Artifact Museum) brings together carpets, kilims (woven rugs), candlesticks and firmans (sultan's decrees) from mosques in Northern Cyprus. No English text, but note the two large 16th-century "tent" carpets decorated with yellow and blue oblique crosses. The museum occupies the rear part of the Bedesten. On the first floor, a small collection of medieval Christian tombs.
