GALERIE NATIONALE D'ART CONTEMPORAIN - SPEL
Museum dedicated to contemporary Cypriot art. Several "sessions" each year, interspersed with temporary closures.
This contemporary art museum (ΣΠΕΛ/SPEL) is part of the National Gallery of Contemporary Art in the New Town. Opened in 2018, it is housed on the premises of the former SPEL natural gas company, a 3,630 m² industrial building on three floors. Here, the National Gallery focuses on Cypriot works from 1950 to the present day. Several times a year, a "session" honors an artist: it may be an exhibition lasting several weeks or an evening performance. The museum is closed between sessions.
