FIKARDOU RURAL MUSEUM
Site to find houses reconstructed in their original state with period furniture, linen and utensils.
To the north of the monastery of Machairas, passing through Gourri, we reach the small hamlet of Fikardou. Picturesque, it has remained virtually unchanged for two centuries. About forty houses have been, as in Omodhos, reconstructed in their original state, with the furniture, linen and utensils of the time, and opened to the public. These houses are called Katsinioros and Achilleas Dimitri. They were partly built in the 16th century. Most of the other houses are fascinating testimonies of the past, both in architecture and decoration.
