Project for a 4 km-long cable car between Kyrenia and Bellapaïs. Another project with Saint-Hilarion Castle.

As we finish this guide, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Republic of Northern Cyprus have just launched work to link Kyrenia to Bellapais Abbey via a 4 km-long cable car system (Girne-Bellapais Teleferik). The stated aim is to "promote alternative tourism" by increasing the number of visitors to the village of Bellapaïs/Beylerbeyi, but reducing access by road (6 km). Another gondola project could also be launched between Kyrenia and St. Hilarion Castle.
