Built during the British period, in 1878, this market (Bandabuliya, Δημοτική Αγορά/Dimotiki Agora) was restored in 2004-2006 thanks to UN support. But since the Covid crisis, all the shops that used to be there have closed. All that remains is a café with a pleasant outdoor terrace (6 Üstü 1 Kafe). For shopping, a large market (Girne Açık Pazar Yeri) is held on Wednesdays near Barış Parkı ("Peace Park"), 1.5 km southwest of the Old Port.
