ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF KYRENIA
Small museum located within Kyrenia Castle. Houses finds from three archaeological sites in the region.
This small museum (Arkeoloji Müzesi) houses finds from three sites. A diorama reconstructs the village of Vrysi (east of Kyrenia), occupied between 4400 and 3700 BC. Two skeletons and pottery from the Kirni tombs (near Saint-Hilarion) were used between 2075 and 1725 BC. The second floor is devoted to the sanctuary of Agia Irini (near Cape Kormakitis), where 2,000 votive statuettes from the 7th and 6th centuries BC were discovered (see National Museum of Cyprus).
