One of the most beautiful beaches on the Kyrenia coast. Nesting area for two species of sea turtle (restricted access in summer).
The Alagadi turtle beach is reputed to be the most beautiful on the Kyrenia coast. Comprising four sandy bays and a rocky spur, it is a nesting area for two species of sea turtle: the green turtle (Chelonia mydas) and the loggerhead turtle(Caretta caretta). In summer, the site is closed at night to allow the reptiles to bury their eggs (80-120/female), while during the day, volunteers from the Cyprus Turtles association (cyprusturtles.org) keep tourists away from the moving progress of the babies towards the sea.
