PANAGIA POTAMITISSA CHURCH
Greek church with vaulted roof from the late Lusignan period, featuring frescoes and a carved tomb.
This 15th-century Greek Orthodox church (Panayia Kilisesi, Εκκλησία της Παναγία Ποταμίτισσα/Ekklisia tis Panagia Potamitissa) is distinguished by its vaulted roof. It owes its name of "Our Lady of the River" to the stream running past it. Abandoned in 1975, it still preserves 16th-century frescoes depicting Saint George slaying the dragon, Saint Mammès riding a lion, Saint Demetrios on horseback, etc., and an engraved tomb from the same period depicting a bearded man in gabardine.
