This Sufi sanctuary was the home of Sheikh Nazim (1922-2014), renowned for his messages of tolerance. Ceremony on Friday.
This Sufi shrine of the Naqshbandi-Haqqami brotherhood (Şeyh Nazım Dergah) attracts visitors from all over the world. It was the residence of Mehmet Nazim Adil, known as Sheikh Nazim Al-Haqqani (1922-2014), a spiritual leader from Larnaka and distant descendant of the Prophet Mohammed renowned for his messages of wisdom and tolerance. Every Friday, the hadrah ("presence" in Arabic) ceremony is open to the curious. This is a ritual dance that allows us to "let go" and meditate collectively, in movement and rhythm.
