CHAPELLE SAINT-JACQUES DE TRIKOMO
Medieval Dominican chapel. Now home to the municipal tourist office. Looted after the 1974 invasion.
Built around the 14th century, this former Catholic chapel (Ayos Yakovos Şapeli, Παρεκκλήσιο του Αγίου Ιακώβου/Parekklísio tou Agíou Iakóvou) belonged to the Dominican order. Today, it houses the municipal tourist office. Its elegant dome dominates a tiny rectangular nave. Looted after the 1974 invasion, it lost its frescoes and two of its stolen icons have since been recovered in Switzerland by the Nicosia Byzantine Museum.
