What an amazing structure. I can't imagine being the cistern digger who poked through the top of .. a hole he was digging .. to find this enormous underground burial complex. I mean, I get excited when I find a twenty while cleaning behind the couch cushions...

The tour is about 45 minutes, with some introductory video first. The site itself is not accessible for wheelchairs but if some walking with assistance is possible, it might be manageable. Tall people, watch your heads (actually that's good advice in lots of places here).

It's actually very difficult to come to terms with this place. It feels like it was made by aliens, certainly not humans. Of course it's from a time so long ago that the humans who lived then probably are 'alien' to us today. It's a staggering, strange place. The guide who went around with us was miserable and incomprehensible. She seemed bored and yet for the visitors it's a very special, even unique, moment. For her it was the end of the day and she was probably planning her evening meal and what to watch on TV! The audio guides were good though. You have to go but be mentally prepared.

Overpriced

Worth every cent of the 50eur last minute ticket, as well as getting to the ticket office early to get them.

Unique place. A must visit place when you are in Malta. It's hard to imagine that such a place was built more than 5000 years ago. But you need buy tickets well in advance (months) because only limited amount of people are allowed to enter for conservation reasons.

No need to take a tour from town, just hop on a local bus , but you have to book months in advance. 2000 years before the pyramids and stone henge. Why is this not on the top 10 world visits?

A must see for fans of the Neolithic and any archaeologist. I'd say this is the most interesting of all the temple sites and also the hardest to get into. As an archaeologist I'm torn between encouraging visits to see this wonder of the ancient world, yet discouraging visits because of the damage it will do to the site (and I'm not a fan of the internal works that have been carried out to encourage visits). Nevertheless it is an amazing site especially for students of archaeology, and will cost you an absolute fortune to get in. You need to book the tickets weeks in advance as well.

No dejan hacer fotos

The visit is delightful. The limited number visitors makes the even more impressive! Adult price with is therefore €25/pers but reasonable given the efforts of development that were made on site. Audioguides in several languages (always practical). The guide that accompanied us was really passionate and very friendly. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed, even if it is understandable why! With not missing!
