It was built between 1798 and 1800, during the Anglo-Maltese blockade, to defend the island against French troops. In 1878 and 1905, 38-tonne guns were installed there. We must wait until 1942 for the fort to be used; it makes it possible to Repel the Italian Navy. Abandoned in 1960 by the military, it was converted into cinema studios in 1964 and then into amusement park in 1998. The park has been closed since then and you cannot visit the fort.
