This small, colorful hostel with a relaxed, international atmosphere offers 4 dormitories with 6 beds each (some are mixed), and a double room with bathroom (must be booked in advance). A large garden with climbing ivy and hammocks invites you to relax and chat. The communal kitchen is popular, as are the regular barbecues organized by the hotel in the garden. A good plan for backpackers on a budget and students on an English course who are staying on the island and are looking for a certain conviviality.

The hostel is near the St. Julian’s bay and we could do a lot of things walking, but if you need a bus there is two bus stops nearby (5 and 15 min walking).

I booked 4 nights in the dorm room here. Long story short, it was completely impossible to sleep due to the stifling heat in the room. There was only one fan working in the room which wasn’t sufficient at all for cooling the space. Keep in mind, my stay was in early October so I can only imagine the situation during summer time. I checked out immediately the next day and was refused a refund for the remaining nights unless they were able to sell the bed space to someone else.
I’m sure this review will elicit the standard response from management that this is a “budget hostel” and that’s why the conditions are so deplorable. But I’ve stayed in many other places in a similar price range in Europe that do a much better job with managing the heat. At the very least, a refund should have been offered. Very unfortunate.
