A beautiful building by the sea, the former Dragonara Palace is well worth a visit, even for those who have no intention of gambling. With its gallery and colonnaded balustrade, it combines the grace and luxury of a palazzo. It was built at the end of the 19th century by Marquis Scicluna, who wanted a beautiful seaside residence and had a sense of festivity uncommon on the island. This superb residence was used as a hospital during the First World War. The establishment, owned by a Frenchman, is very well run and well frequented. However, a certain "inquisitive" spirit can be a nuisance: access to the casino is subject to identification (passport number, photo, address).
