It is on the square of the church of St. Helena and in the small streets that surround it that Birkirkara feels like an old village and no longer as a mere extension of the capital. Its own identity emerges here. The small cafés are numerous and lively, the workshops are open to the street, cars are rare. You can stroll on foot through the small streets lined with pretty houses with sculpted balconies. You will also be able to see the private residence of former president Eddie Fenech Adami, a beautiful example of Maltese architecture (Triq il-Kbrira).
