PALAZZO PRINCE D’ORANGE
Welcome to Maltese-style splendor. Versailles is just a click away at this 17th-century baroque rococo palace with its dozen majestic rooms in the heart of Valletta. Each suite is furnished in the Maltese bourgeois style of the last century. A preference for the Beatrix suite on the1st floor, with monumental chandeliers on the ceiling, a Provencal sitting area with still lifes hanging on the wall, a marble walk-in shower, two bedrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen opening onto an intimate balcony in the inner courtyard. The overall effect is grandiose. On the top floor, a penthouse boasts a barbecue area for summer evenings and an incredible view of the port and city from its private terrace. The living room is particularly inviting, with a large crystal chandelier, a library of antique books, many in French, comfortable sofas and a massive fireplace that crackles on winter evenings. For the standard offered, prices are reasonable. However, if you'd like more light, opt for the upstairs rooms.
