Its renovation was part of the Valletta City Gate project led by Renzo Piano since 2008 and the new Royal Theatre was inaugurated in 2013. During the month of June, it hosts some of the films that are presented during the Valletta Film Festival. And in 2018, many cultural events will be held there. But its programme is extensive, especially in the summer, when classical music and jazz, among other things, can be enjoyed.
