Built in the 16th century in a Mannerist style following the plans of Girolamo Cassar, this inn was enlarged in 1783 with the incorporation of part of the Casa Caccia, another 16th century palace, and continued to house the knights who spoke the language of Auvergne until Napoleon's expulsion of the order in 1798. And it was in the 19th century that the building was used to deal with judicial matters. Bombarded during the 1939-1945 war, it now houses the Court of Malta, a neoclassical-style building.
