The commuter train allows you to travel around Madrid and reach many of the surrounding cities. It saves a lot of time when going from one of these points to another: Chamartín, Atocha and Méndez Alvaro stations or other nerve centers such as Puerta del Sol, Recoletos and Nuevos Ministerios. There are 10 cercanías lines in Madrid. Their frequency ranges from 10 to 30 minutes. The fare varies according to the distance traveled, but to stay in Madrid you can use the same tickets as for the bus or metro.
