MERCADO SAN ILDEFONSO
While its illustrious predecessor, the mercado San Miguel, plays the Spanish card to the hilt, the San Ildefonso offers a veritable culinary world tour. The twenty or so stands revisit all the world's culinary classics. Croquetas with goat's cheese or langoustines rub shoulders with tacos, sushi, smash burgers or wraps, all concocted with fresh produce. In short, it's the trendy afterwork spot for Madrid's thirtysomethings. As for the decor, the urban, designer look, metal walkways and two terraces make for a harmonious whole. A real favorite!
