Building constituting a symbol of Madrid for its dome with a winged Victory, beautiful view from the roof top of the Circulo de Bellas Artes

The Edificio Metrópolis, completely renovated in 2024, is a symbol of Madrid, with its large dome surmounted by a winged victory. Originally, the building belonged to an insurance company, Unión y el Fénix, and the slate dome was topped by a phoenix. When the building changed hands in 1975, the bird flew away and victory took its place. At the corner of Calle de Alcalá and Gran Vía, it is clearly visible from the Azotea roof top, as well as from the terrace of the Hotel Principal Madrid. As beautiful to contemplate by day as by night!
